We still have almost £300 left from the area management funding we received this year and so we have decided to spend it on planting up 4 Flower tubs in front of the leisure centre. These were put in place by metro to compensate us when we lost a number of flower beds when the new bus station was built. Sadly the plants in them did not survive long, partly due to them becoming waterlogged. So we are going to smarten them up, here`s a picture of how they look now:

Pudsey In Bloom is a community group formed in 2003. Our aim is to make Pudsey a more attractive place for residents and visitors and to encourage everyone to take pride in their environment. Along the way we would like to improve on the permanent planting and aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible. 2008 was our first entry in the Yorkshire In Bloom Competition and we won SILVER! If you have any questions you can leave us a comment on the blog or email us at pudseyinbloom@gmail.com

Late Autumn Colour...
Rudbeckias grown and planted by one of our members give some late autumn colour to the tripe bath garden:
Thanks to Groundwork.....
We have been given lots of daffodils....1000 to be precise. 500 tete a tete and 500 psuedo narcissi. We decided to plant them at the traffic light junction of Kent Road, lowtown, where there are two grassy verges either side of the road. We set to work on what looked like it could turn out to be a rainy morning, but thankfully it didn`t and the sun even came out briefly. Hopefully this will give a lovely colourful spring display once the daffodils get established.
