A most welcome donation!!

Last week members of Pudsey in bloom were delighted to accept a cheque for £1000 presented to us by the Masons. The photograph below shows Margaret our chair along with some of our members accepting the cheque from the Worshipful Master of the Lodge of Benevolence. The lovely photo was taken by Peter Holdsworth, the Masons photographer. Afterwards we were honoured and pleased to be treated to a visit to the Masonic Hall on Church Lane, it was a super afternoon. The money will be used to provide attractive planters in the library square.

September Update

The  Asda sponsorship plaque is now in place in the leisure centre bed. The sleeper beds at lowtown are well on their way to being completed. We almost were an outright winner in the Asda green token collection, but in the end were beaten by Rodley Nature Reserve, none the less we bagged ourselves £50 for entering! We are now in possession of a bowser and are trying out a watering schedule to see how it will work, unfortunately we have been asked by LCC to water the trickiest areas, mainly the troughs at the main traffic lights in the town centre! Work still continues by our tidy Tuesday group, don`t forget our AGM in October, and I dare I say it will soon be time to plan for the autumn/spring planting of the troughs!

Article in the Winter Edition of the P&DCS.

There is an interesting write-up on the history of Job Ross and his tripe business in the latest edition of the Pudsey Civic Society magazine. What they have omitted to say is that without our Maureen, the tripe baths would no longer be with us!!
